Consultancy
Media Citizens is a digital communications agency with a practice that revolves around the idea of a 'participant audience'. Not so long ago that phrase would provoke confusion and laughter. There was a flat earth media landscape with clear horizons. Now the cry is all for user generated content, social networking, wiki wisdom and constant twitter.
For us it's all part of the same thing. It's about having a voice, having a sense of belonging, having a say. Your users want to be able to search and find information for themselves. They want to see behind the scenes and they want to feel involved.
In media design, we bring the same knowledge and approach to the creation of online publications for active audiences. In regeneration zones, we work to bring media skills to disadvantaged communities so they can participate in the digital future.
We've worked with a national communications company to design media players so the public can search for and respond to messages they were seeing on screens all over town.
We've designed a university marketing campaign and recruited staff and students to make films for a showcase online publication.
We're working with the Institute of Education on a learning design that captures the active inquiry of the student.
And we're currently working with a charity to help bring the voice of disabled people to a national platform.
Our consultancies are about bringing a clear vision to a problem and having the practical design, development and production skills to bring an idea to life.
