Media Training
At Media Citizens we're about giving people a voice online and that means web design, production and practical media skills training.
This package has a particular relevance to regeneration areas where we work with partners to tackle the digital divide.
We're an accredited learning provider in our own right and we offer modular courses at FE level in photography, video and sound production and editing alongside web design and Flash courses for online publishing.
We also design and set up training centres and/or outreach programmes and we ensure there's a publishing output to our courses, encouraging students with early visible achievement and providing showcase portfolios to aid progression into jobs or continuing education.
It's a practice we pioneered running an online journalism course at university and it works just as well with participant media projects in the community such as this photography project we ran with a museum and kids aged 8-15 from a local estate.
Increasingly, we're asked to build video based websites and then train staff to run them - such as marketing departments.
